Removal [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

PRECAUTION
NOTE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery notice before proceeding with work.

CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM
1. Disengage the auto tilt away function by changing the customize parameter.
  Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [06/2015 - ]
  
  NOTE:
  Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the auto tilt away function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
  
  HINT:
  
  Performing the above operation causes the auto tilt away function to be disabled when the power switch is turned off.
2. Turn the power switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER

Starting with the steering wheel assembly in the straight-ahead position, turn the steering wheel assembly 90° to the left and right to remove the 3 screws.

Disengage the 2 claws and 6 guides to remove the lower steering column cover.

NOTE:

Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.

Remove in this Direction
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Disengage the claw and pull out the tilt and telescopic switch.
  NOTE:
  Pushing on the claw too hard will break the claw.
