Removal [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW FRAME REAR MOULDING
- Using an infrared light, heat the front door window frame rear moulding.HEATING TEMPERATURE
Item Temperature Front Door Window Frame Rear Moulding 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F) 3 to 5 minutes - Using a moulding remover D, disengage the clip and guide to remove the front door window frame rear moulding as shown in the illustration.
*a Double-sided Tape *b Caulking Sponge with Butyl Layer Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
- Using an infrared light, heat the front door window frame rear moulding.
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
- Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.
*a 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) - - HINT:
Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.
- Lightly press the drill against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 7 rivets.NOTE:
- Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
- Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
- Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.
- Remove the rear end cover and front door outside moulding sub-assembly.
