DTC B15C5: Manual Button Malfunction [01/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs.

      Refer to HEALTH CHECK [01/2018 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1570, B1571 and B15C5 are output A
      DTC B15C5 is output
      (DTC B1570 and B1571 are not output)

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Map Light Assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      W8-31 (SIG1) - W8-32 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 410 to 414 Ω
      W8-31 (SIG1) - W8-32 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 81 to 83 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G55 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the W8 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G55-26 (SIG-) - W8-32 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-26 (SIG-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W8-32 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G55-27 (SIG1) - W8-31 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-27 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W8-31 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2018 - 11/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [01/2018 - ] 

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH OPERATION) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Telematics / Data List.
    6. Check that the manual (SOS) switch condition observed on the Techstream changes according to manual (SOS) switch operation.

  6. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2018 - 11/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The power switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [01/2018 - ] 

  7. CHECK DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (SIG1 VOLTAGE) 
    1. Remove the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [01/2018 - 11/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

      *a Component with harness connected
      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G55-27 (SIG1) - G55-26 (SIG-) Power switch on (IG), manual (SOS) switch not pressed 1.5 to 2.0 V

  8. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G55 DCM (Telematics Transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the W8 map light assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G55-27 (SIG1) - W8-31 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G55-27 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W8-31 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  11. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)

      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
