DTC U0182: Lost Communication with AFS ECU [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

  1. RECONFIRM DTC OUTPUT 

    Body Electrical > Main Body > Trouble Codes 

    1. Reconfirm DTCs.

      HINT: 

      If DTC U1002 is output from Main Body of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), this indicates a sub bus 1 malfunction. Troubleshoot for DTC U1002 and check for malfunctions in sub bus 1.

    GO TO DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTC. Refer to  DTC U1002: Lost Communication with Gateway Module (Network Gateway ECU) [06/2015 - 11/2018]

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN SUB BUS 1 LINES (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the headlight light control ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-24 (CANH) - A31-23 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Headlight Light Control ECU Sub-assembly LH)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-12 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A31-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A31-4 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
