While Alarm is Armed, Luggage Door or Hood is opened but Alarm does not Sound [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION 
    1. Close all doors, the luggage compartment door and hood.
    2. Lock the doors using the key link operation, wireless operation or entry operation.
    3. Check that the security indicator light illuminates.
    4. After 30 seconds have elapsed, check that the security indicator light changes from illuminated to flashing.

      HINT: 

      The illumination status of the security indicator light can be used to determine whether the theft deterrent system is set or unset.

    GO TO THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CANNOT BE SET OR UNSET. Refer to  Theft Deterrent System cannot be Set or Unset [06/2015 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HOOD COURTESY SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Hood Courtesy SW Hood courtesy switch ON or OFF ON: Hood open
      OFF: Hood closed

      The Techstream display changes correctly in response to the hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) status.

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - 11/2018]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    NG

  3. INSPECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hood lock assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the hood lock assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the A37 hood lock assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G6 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-1 - G6-11 (HCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      A37-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A37-1 or G6-11 (HCTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE COURTESY SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Data List

  6. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

    2. Inspect the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the P27 luggage compartment door lock assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the 4D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P27-3 (D+) - 4D-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      P27-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      P27-3 (D+) or 4D-16 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - 11/2018] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
