DTC P01E3-11: Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit Short to Ground [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

- READ VALUE USING GTS (CHECK FOR SHORT IN WIRE HARNESS)
*1 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (for Water Inlet Housing Side) *2 ECM - Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for water inlet housing side) connector.
- According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.
Powertrain > Engine > Data List
Tester Display Coolant Temperature Sensor3 OK
GTS Display Specified Condition Coolant Temperature Sensor3 -40°C (-40°F) HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor (for water inlet housing side).
Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2022 - ]

REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR WATER INLET HOUSING SIDE). Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (FOR WATER INLET HOUSING SIDE) - ECM)
- Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (for water inlet housing side) connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition n9-2 (THW3) or C88-78 (THW3) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
