DTC P0606-94: Control Module Processor Unexpected Operation [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  2. READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0606-94) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Start the engine.
    4. With the vehicle stopped, repeat the accelerator pedal operation (press the accelerator pedal from a state where it is not depressed) several times.
    5. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P0606-94 is output B

    Result: 

    A 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [10/2022 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the accelerator pedal sensor assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A26-6 (VPA) - A83-55 (VPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-3 (VPA2) - A83-58 (VPA2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-4 (VCPA) - A83-57 (VCPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-1 (VCP2) - A83-60 (VCP2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-5 (EPA) - A83-56 (EPA) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-2 (EPA2) - A83-59 (EPA2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A26-6 (VPA) or A83-55 (VPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A26-3 (VPA2) or A83-58 (VPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A26-4 (VCPA) or A83-57 (VCPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A26-1 (VCP2) or A83-60 (VCP2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A26-5 (EPA) or A83-56 (EPA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A26-2 (EPA2) or A83-59 (EPA2) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
