Removal [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN COOLANT (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to REPLACEMENT [10/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ] 

  3. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

  5. REMOVE HOOD CUSHION CENTER LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the hood center cushion as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  6. REMOVE HOOD CUSHION CENTER RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE FENDER REAR SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the fender rear splash shield sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE FENDER REAR SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL FRONT LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2023 - ]

  10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL FRONT RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  11. REMOVE FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [11/2023 - ]

  12. REMOVE FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  13. REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [11/2023 - ]

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [11/2023 - ]

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  16. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      1. Remove the throttle body gasket from the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly.

  29. SEPARATE CONVERTER WITH CATALYST ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

      1. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolts from the manifold stay.
  30. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE CLAMP

  31. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.

      1. Remove the two nuts from the bottom of the vehicle and disconnect the No. 1 turbo oil pipe from the turbocharger sub-assembly.
      2. Rotate the converter with catalyst assembly outwards around the stud bolts to secure removal space.
      3. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolts from the cylinder head.
