Operating Light Control Rheostat does not Change Light Brightness [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Light Control Switch (UP) Light control rheostat up switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      When the switch is built into the combination meter assembly or is connected via direct line, the input value is displayed.
      Light Control Switch (DOWN) Light control rheostat down switch OFF or ON OFF: Switch released
      ON: Switch pushed
      When the switch is built into the combination meter assembly or is connected via direct line, the input value is displayed.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Light Control Switch (UP)
      Light Control Switch (DOWN)

      OK

      Light control rheostat up switch or down switch condition displayed on the GTS changes with the actual switch operation.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRIP SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRIP SWITCH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H113 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H23-4 (RV) - H113-28 (TR) Always Below 1 Ω
      H23-1 (E) - H113-26 (SW3) Always Below 1 Ω
      H23-4 (RV) or H113-28 (TR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
