Skid Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check vehicle type.

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A51 brake actuator assembly connector.

      (to Brake Actuator Assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A51-5 (CANH) - A51-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Result 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A51-46 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A51-36 (IGR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      A51-1 (+BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A51-30 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result 
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A140 brake actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A140-27 (CANH) - A140-43 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINES OR CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      A140-1 (GND1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

    2. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A140-45 (IGR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      A140-46 (BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A140-14 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
