Removal [03/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE BUTTON COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to remove the shift lock release button cover from the position indicator housing assembly.

      *a Protective Tape
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the shift lock release button cover and position indicator housing assembly.

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  1

  4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [01/2019 - 09/2022]

  5. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE (for TMC Made) 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Rotate the lock nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the lock nut in that position, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      *a Counterclockwise
      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.

  6. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE (for TMMMS Made) 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Disconnect in this Direction
    3. Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the floor shift transmission control select cable.

      *a Stopper
      NOTE:

      Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

    4. Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

      Disconnect in this Direction
      NOTE:
      • Do not rotate the nut excessively as the interior spring may come off and the floor shift transmission control select cable will not be reusable.
      • Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.
  7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and separate the transmission floor shift assembly.

    2. Disconnect the transmission control switch connector.

    3. Disengage the 3 clamps to separate the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.
    4. Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.

    5. Disengage the 2 clamps to separate the wire harness from the transmission floor shift assembly.
    6. Remove the transmission floor shift assembly.
