Shift Paddle Switch Circuit [11/2022 - 09/2024]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPORT SHIFT SWITCH STATUS) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

      Sport Shift Up SW Sport shift up switch status ON or OFF
      • ON: Shift lever held in "+" or "+" shift paddle switch operated
      • OFF: Shift lever not held in "+" and "+" shift paddle switch released

      • ON: Shift lever held in "-" or "-" shift paddle switch operated

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the C80 TCM connector.
    2. Disconnect the A47 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C80-28 (SFTU) - A47-28 (ECCS) "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher
      C80-27 (SFTD) - A47-28 (ECCS) "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher
    4. Connect the A47 ECM connector.
    5. Connect the C80 TCM connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A47 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A47-10 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the A47 ECM connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK ECM (ECM TERMINALS) 
    1. Disconnect the A47 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A47-28 (ECCS) - A47-10 (E1) Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the A47 ECM connector.

  5. REPLACE TCM 
    1. Replace the TCM.

  6. REPLACE ECM 
    1. Replace the ECM.

      Refer to COMPONENTS [11/2022 - ]

    PERFORM INITIALIZATION

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - TCM - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the I82 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the C80 TCM connector.
    3. Disconnect the A47 ECM connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C80-28 (SFTU) - I82-8 (SUP) Always Below 1 Ω
      C80-27 (SFTD) - I82-1 (SDN) Always Below 1 Ω
      A47-28 (ECCS) - I82-2 (ECC) Always Below 1 Ω
      C80-28 (SFTU) or I82-8 (SUP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C80-27 (SFTD) or I82-1 (SDN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A47-28 (ECCS) or I82-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Connect the A47 ECM connector.
    6. Connect the C80 TCM connector.
    7. Connect the I82 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - TCM - ECM)

  8. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

  9. INSPECT SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH LH (NO. 1 TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the shift paddle switch LH (No. 1 transmission shift switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-1 (SDN) - A-2 (ECC) "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher
      A-1 (SDN) - A-3 (ECC1) "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher

  10. INSPECT SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH RH (NO. 2 TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the shift paddle switch RH (No. 2 transmission shift switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-1 (SUP) - B-2 (ECC) "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher

    REPLACE SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH RH (NO. 2 TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

  11. INSPECT NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE 
    1. Install the shift paddle switch LH (No. 1 transmission shift switch assembly) and shift paddle switch RH (No. 2 transmission shift switch assembly).

      Refer to INSTALLATION [06/2018 - ]

    2. Disconnect the z6 No. 1 switch wire connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z6-2 (SUP) - z6-3 (ECC) "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "+" (Up shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher
      z6-4 (SDN) - z6-3 (ECC) "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch operated and held Below 2.5 Ω
      "-" (Down shift) shift paddle switch not operated 1 MΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE
