Drive Mode Select Switch Circuit [09/2022 - 09/2024]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (DMS+) AND DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH (DMS-))
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List.
- According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Drive Mode Select Switch (DMS+) Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) status ON or OFF - ON: Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) pushed forward
- OFF: Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) in neutral position
- Drive Mode Select Switch (DMS-) Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) status ON or OFF - ON: Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) pulled rearward
- OFF: Drive mode select switch (combination switch assembly) in neutral position
- Powertrain > Engine > Data List

- Replace the ECM.
- INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DRIVE MODE SELECT SWITCH)
- Remove the combination switch assembly.
Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - ]
*a Component without harness connected
(Combination Switch Assembly (Drive Mode Select Switch)) - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 7 (SEL) - 5 (E) Drive mode select switch pushed forward Below 50 Ω 7 (SEL) - 5 (E) Drive mode select switch in neutral position 10 kΩ or higher 6 (E) - 5 (E) Drive mode select switch pulled rearward Below 50 Ω 6 (E) - 5 (E) Drive mode select switch in neutral position 10 kΩ or higher - Install the combination switch assembly.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the I61 combination switch assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I61-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω - Connect the I61 combination switch assembly connector.
