  1. DATA LIST 

    HINT: 

    The engine speed may be indicated as zero despite the engine running normally. This is caused by the NE signal not being received from the crankshaft position sensor. Alternatively, the engine speed may be indicated as lower than the actual engine speed if the crankshaft position sensor output voltage is insufficient.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Start the engine.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List / Engine Speed.
    6. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Engine Speed Engine speed Min.: 0 rpm
      Max.: 16383 rpm
      750 to 850 rpm: Engine idling (shift lever in P, engine warmed up and A/C off) When the crankshaft position sensor is malfunctioning, "Engine Speed" is approximately 0 rpm or varies greatly from the actual engine speed.
