Removal [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Fully Sealed Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Non-Fully Sealed Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  6 [09/2022 - 11/2022], or see step  6 [11/2022 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 EGR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the EGR valve assembly connector.

    2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 EGR pipe sub-assembly from the intake manifold and EGR valve assembly.

    3. Remove the EGR valve adapter gasket from the No. 1 EGR pipe sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the EGR inlet gasket from the intake manifold.

  5. REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly.

      *1 No. 4 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 8 Water By-pass Hose
    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 8 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly.
    3. Using the 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts and EGR valve assembly.
