DTC P0335-2A: Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Signal Stuck in Range [03/2023 - 09/2024]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Crankshaft Position Sensor)

    HINT: 

    Make sure that the connector is properly connected. If it is not, securely connect it and check for DTCs again.

    1. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z4-3 (VCNE) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
      Z4-1 (NE+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 3.0 to 5.0 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z4-2 (NE-) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Remove the crankshaft position sensor.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - ]

    2. Confirm that there is no oil on the connecting parts of the crankshaft position sensor connector.

      OK

      There is no oil on the connecting parts of the crankshaft position sensor connector

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

    *a Component without harness connected
    (Crankshaft Position Sensor)
    1. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (VCNE) - 1 (NE+) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (VCNE) - 2 (NE-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 (NE+) - 2 (NE-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - 09/2024]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (for K120)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z4-3 (VCNE) - C76-116 (VCNE) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-1 (NE+) - C76-93 (NE+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-2 (NE-) - C76-115 (NE-) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-3 (VCNE) or C76-116 (VCNE) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z4-1 (NE+) or C76-93 (NE+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z4-2 (NE-) or C76-115 (NE-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (for K121)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Z4-3 (VCNE) - C160-129 (VCNE) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-1 (NE+) - C160-133 (NE+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-2 (NE-) - C160-99 (NE-) Always Below 1 Ω
      Z4-3 (VCNE) or C160-129 (VCNE) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z4-1 (NE+) or C160-133 (NE+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Z4-2 (NE-) or C160-99 (NE-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE ECM
