DTC P08D4-11: Shift Solenoid "J" Control Circuit Short to Ground [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SC2) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the C61 transmission wire connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      13 (SC2) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Transmission Wire)

      Post-procedure1

    3. Connect the C61 transmission wire connector.

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the C160 ECM connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C160-2 (SC2) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    3. Connect the C160 ECM connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. REPLACE ECM 

    HINT: 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - 09/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]

    PERFORM REGISTRATION AND INITIALIZATION 

    for Registration: Refer to REGISTRATION [03/2023 - ]

  4. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the C61 transmission wire connector.
    2. Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the shift solenoid valve SC2.

      HINT: 

      Refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - ]

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 Transmission Valve Body Assembly *2 Shift Solenoid Valve SC2
      *3 Transmission Wire - -
      *a Shift Solenoid Valve Side *b Wire Harness Connector Side

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (shift solenoid valve side) or 13 (SC2) (wire harness connector side) - All other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. None

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2023 - 09/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]
