Back Door Courtesy Switch Circuit [11/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the back door lock with courtesy light switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

    REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 8H power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V3-3 (D+) - 8H-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      V3-3 (D+) or 8H-5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      V3-2 (ACT-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the power distribution box assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8H-5 - MB-19 (BCTY) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY
