DTC C1AE3-87: Ultrasonic Sensor (Front Right Center) Missing Message [09/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. If DTC C1AE2-96 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC C1AE2-96 first.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes

      C1AE2-96 is output B

    Result:

    GO TO C1AE2-96

  2. VEHICLE CONDITION AND WORK DETAILS CHECK 
    1. Check the vehicle condition and work details.

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (ULTRASONIC SENSOR) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the front corner ultrasonic sensor and front center ultrasonic sensor.

  4. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

    2. According to the display on the GTS, clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes

      C1AE3-87 is output B

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR LH - FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the B6 front center ultrasonic sensor LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the B7 front center ultrasonic sensor RH connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B6-1 (BO) - B7-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B6-2 (SO) - B7-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B6-3 (EO) - B7-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B6-1 (BO) or B7-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B6-2 (SO) or B7-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B6-3 (EO) or B7-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. REPLACE FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RH 
    1. Replace the front center ultrasonic sensor RH with a new or normally functioning one.

      HINT: 

      • Refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]
      • To check if the ultrasonic sensor is functioning correctly, replace it with another ultrasonic sensor.
