DTC C1AE2-87: Ultrasonic Sensor (Front Left Center) Missing Message [09/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. If DTC C1AE1-96 is output, perform troubleshooting for DTC C1AE1-96 first.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      C1AE1-96 is not output A
      C1AE1-96 is output B

    Result: 

    GO TO C1AE1-96 

    Refer to DTC C1AE1-96: Ultrasonic Sensor (Front Left Corner) Component Internal Failure [08/2023 - ]

  2. VEHICLE CONDITION AND WORK DETAILS CHECK 
    1. Check the vehicle condition and work details.

      Result

      The clearance warning ECU assembly or ultrasonic sensor has not been replaced A
      The clearance warning ECU assembly or ultrasonic sensor has been replaced B

    GO TO CALIBRATION

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (ULTRASONIC SENSOR) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the front corner ultrasonic sensor and front center ultrasonic sensor.

  4. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

    2. According to the display on the GTS, clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Clearance Warning > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      C1AE2-87 is not output A
      C1AE2-87 is output B

    Result:

  5. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check that the connector is properly connected to the clearance warning ECU assembly.

  6. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

    1. Check for DTCs.

  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR LH - FRONT CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR LH) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the B5 front corner ultrasonic sensor LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the B6 front center ultrasonic sensor LH connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B5-1 (BO) - B6-4 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-2 (SO) - B6-5 (SI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-3 (EO) - B6-6 (EI) Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-1 (BO) or B6-4 (BI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B5-2 (SO) or B6-5 (SI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B5-3 (EO) or B6-6 (EI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. REPLACE FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR LH 
    1. Replace the front center ultrasonic sensor LH with a new or normally functioning one.

      HINT: 

      • Refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]
      • To check if the ultrasonic sensor is functioning correctly, replace it with another ultrasonic sensor.

  10. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.
