DTC C13A2: Engine Switch/Power Switch Malfunction [04/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (IG SWITCH) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.
    6. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      IG Switch IG power source status OFF or ON OFF: IG power source voltage is not input to skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly)
      ON: IG power source voltage is input to skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly)

      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Data List 

      Tester Display
      IG Switch

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the power switch off.
    3. Check for DTCs.

      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are output A
      DTCs are not output B

    Result: 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021] 

    Result: 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 -] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - POWER SOURCE AND BODY GROUND)

    (to Parking Brake ECU (Brake Actuator Assembly))
    1. Disconnect the A39 parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) connectors.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A39-26 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 8 to 16 V
    4. Turn the power switch off.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A39-2 (EGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPAIR IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
