Removal [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ] 

  2. REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ] 

  3. DRAIN FUEL 
  4. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [08/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [08/2021 - ]

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and No. 2 fuel tank protector sub-assembly from the No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly RH.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using needle nose pliers, remove the 4 clips and No. 1 fuel tank protector sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2020 - ]

  10. DISCONNECT INLET FUEL TANK PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the inlet fuel tank pipe sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2020 - ]

  11. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    The fuel tank assembly is very heavy. Be sure to follow the procedure described in the repair information, or the fuel tank assembly may fall off the engine lifter.

    1. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel tank breather tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2020 - ]

    2. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the fuel cut off valve with tube assembly from the fuel tank vent hose sub-assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2020 - ]

    3. Support the fuel tank assembly using an engine lifter.

      HINT: 

      Using height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, keep the fuel tank assembly horizontal.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts, No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly LH and No. 1 fuel tank band sub-assembly RH.

    5. Lower the engine lifter to remove the fuel tank assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to drop the fuel tank assembly.
      • When removing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the surrounding parts.
  12. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp to remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  13. REMOVE FUEL RETURN VENT TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the fuel return vent tube sub-assembly from the fuel tank assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 6 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 No. 6 fuel tank cushions from the fuel tank assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
    1. Remove the No. 1 fuel tank cushion from the fuel tank assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TANK CUSHION 
    1. Remove the 2 No. 2 fuel tank cushions from the fuel tank assembly.

  17. REMOVE FUEL TANK CUSHION 
    1. Remove the fuel tank cushion from the fuel tank assembly.
