DTC B15C1-11: GNSS Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C1-13: GNSS Antenna Circuit Open [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the K telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the J telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K-2 - J-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      K-2 or J-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K-2a - J-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      K-2a or J-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 3 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I-2 - H-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      I-2 or H-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I-2a - H-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      I-2a or H-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the E telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G-2 - E-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      G-2 or E-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G-2a - E-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      G-2a or E-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 6 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 6 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the B telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 6 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D-2 - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      D-2 or B-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D-2a - B-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      D-2a or B-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 6 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (for Roof Side) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna (for Roof Side) with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2021 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (for Roof Side) IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG

  7. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [08/2020 - ]
