DTC B1572-13: Microphone Circuit Open [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 - ]

  2. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G124 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O10 roof console box sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G124-5 (MCVD) - O10-9 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-6 (MCI+) - O10-8 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-7 (MCI-) - O10-7 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-23 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-5 (MCVD) or O10-9 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-6 (MCI+) or O10-8 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-7 (MCI-) or O10-7 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) (ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Remove the telephone microphone assembly but do not disconnect the connectors.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Roof Console Box Sub-assembly)
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      O10-9 (MACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 4 to 6 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O10-7 (MCO-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the roof console box sub-assembly.

      (roof console box sub-assembly (Wire Harness Side))
      *b Component without harness connected
      (roof console box sub-assembly (Telephone Microphone Assembly Side))

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    2. Remove the telephone microphone assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      9 (MACC) - A-5 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      8 (MCO+) - A-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      7 (MCO-) - A-2 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      9 (MACC) - 8 (MCO+) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      9 (MACC) - 7 (MCO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      8 (MCO+) - 7 (MCO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ] 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G124 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O9 roof console box sub-assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G124-5 (MCVD) - O9-6 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-6 (MCI+) - O9-5 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-7 (MCI-) - O9-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-23 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-5 (MCVD) or O9-6 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  8. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the roof console box sub-assembly.

      (roof console box sub-assembly (Telephone Microphone Assembly Side))

    2. Remove the telephone microphone assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      6 (MACC) - A-5 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (MCO+) - A-3 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      4 (MCO-) - A-2 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      6 (MACC) - 5 (MCO+) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      6 (MACC) - 4 (MCO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      5 (MCO+) - 4 (MCO-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ] 

  9. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
