DTC B1571-11: Indicator (Green) Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B1571-13: Indicator (Green) Circuit Open [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2018 - ]

  2. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  3. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) (GREEN INDICATOR) 
    1. Remove the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

      *a Component without harness connected

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from batteries to terminal 11 (IND2) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 16 (GND3) of the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
    4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch green indicator comes on.

      OK

      Manual (SOS) switch green indicator illuminates.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH)) 
    1. Disconnect the G124 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O10 roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G124-22 (IND2) - O10-11 (IND2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-22 (IND2) or O10-11 (IND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-3 (SIG-) - O10-16 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-3 (SIG-) or O10-16 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH) (GREEN INDICATOR) 
    1. Remove the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from batteries to terminal 8 (IND2) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 12 (GND3) of the roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
    4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch green indicator comes on.

      OK

      Manual (SOS) switch green indicator illuminates.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2018 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - ROOF CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH)) 
    1. Disconnect the G124 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O9 roof console box sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G124-22 (IND2) - O9-8 (IND2) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-22 (IND2) or O9-8 (IND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G124-3 (SIG-) - O9-12 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      G124-3 (SIG-) or O9-12 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result
