On-Vehicle Inspection [12/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TRANSFER OIL 
    1. Stop the vehicle in a level place.
    2. Remove the No. 1 transfer case plug and gasket.

    3. Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.196 in.) of the bottom of the No. 1 transfer case plug opening.

      NOTE:
      • An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause damage.
      • After adding oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.
    4. Check for oil leak if the oil level is low.
    5. Install a new gasket onto the No. 1 transfer case plug and then tighten the plug.

      Torque: 49 N*m (500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK
