Installation [08/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Temporarily install the park/neutral position switch to the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
      NOTE:

      Before installing the park/neutral position switch, remove any dirt or rust on the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly. Be sure to install the park/neutral position switch straight along the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch cannot be installed correctly.

    3. Temporarily install the transmission control shaft lever to the park/neutral position switch.
    4. Turn the transmission control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.

    5. Remove the transmission control shaft lever from the park/neutral position switch.
    6. Align the protrusion with the neutral basic line.

    7. Hold the park/neutral position switch in that position and tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    8. Install the transmission control shaft lever to the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly with the washer and nut.

      Torque: 12.7 N*m (130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

    9. Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.
  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control shaft lever.
      NOTE:

      Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch and shift lever are in neutral.

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 63

  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 64

  5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 65

  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67

  8. INSTALL BATTERY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 68

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  10. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OPERATION
