DTC P2111: Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Open; DTC P2112: Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Closed [12/2015 - 08/2016]: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Toyota Sienna. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The throttle actuator is operated by the ECM, and opens and closes the throttle valve using gears. The opening angle of the throttle valve is detected by the throttle position sensor, which is mounted on the throttle body with motor assembly. The throttle position sensor provides feedback to the ECM so that the ECM can control the throttle actuator (throttle valve) approximately in response to driver inputs.
HINT:
This electronic throttle control system does not use a throttle cable.
