Tachometer Malfunction [08/2016 - ]: Procedure

1. Check if a CAN communication DTC is output (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2016 - 11/2017] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2017 - 08/2018] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2018 - ] ).

GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2016 - 11/2017]  Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2017 - ]

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
   COMBINATION METER

   TachoMeter Operation	Tachometer	OFF, 0, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000	Operate with IG ON and the vehicle is stopped.

   Tachometer indication is normal.

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

(Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - ] )

OK

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

   Engine speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the tachometer indication.

   HINT: 

   Check the engine speed when the engine is fully warmed up, and the air conditioning and all electrical accessories are off.
