4WD Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [11/2017 - ]: Procedure
- CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE)
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Disconnect the 4WD ECU assembly connector.

(to 4WD ECU Assembly) - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition K1-14 (CANH) - K1-16 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
Result:
NG
REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY
Result:
OK

- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (4WD ECU ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE)
- Disconnect the 4WD ECU assembly connector.

(to 4WD ECU Assembly) - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition K1-23 (GND) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω - Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ] )
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition K1-9 (BSLC) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V K1-11 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

OK
REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY
