Removal [08/2016 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 60
- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER SETTING BOLT
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 61
- REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
- REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - ]
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and nut to disconnect the engine wire from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
- Disengage the clamp to disconnect the engine wire from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
- SEPARATE BREATHER PLUG HOSE
- REMOVE TRANSVERSE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
- REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH

- REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
- Support the automatic transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.NOTE:
Secure the automatic transaxle assembly to the transmission jack using a suitable adapter, such as a rope or attachment.
- Remove the 11 bolts and automatic transaxle assembly from the engine assembly.NOTE:
To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the automatic transaxle assembly and engine assembly.
- Support the automatic transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.
- REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

- DISCONNECT NO. 2 OUTLET OIL COOLER HOSE

- DISCONNECT NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE

- DISCONNECT NO. 2 INLET OIL COOLER HOSE

- DISCONNECT NO. 1 OUTLET OIL COOLER HOSE

- REMOVE OIL COOLER TUBE ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
- REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
- REMOVE BREATHER PLUG HOSE
- Using a screwdriver, remove the breather plug hose from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the breather plug.
- Remove the No. 1 breather plug (ATM) from the breather plug hose.
*1 No. 1 Breather Plug (ATM) *2 Breather Plug Hose NOTE:Be careful not to damage the No. 1 breather plug (ATM).
- Using a screwdriver, remove the breather plug hose from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
- REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the torque converter assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
- INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
