Removal [12/2015 - ]: Procedure
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ] ).
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
- REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the No. 3 side.
- REMOVE STEERING PAD
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Push in the 3 snap rings to disengage it from the 3 pins.NOTE:
Lightly hold the steering pad to prevent it from falling.
- Pull the steering pad toward the rear.NOTE:
When removing the steering pad, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, release the 2 locking buttons.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Locking Button *a Protective Tape - Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.NOTE:
When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Disconnect the horn terminal.
