Disassembly [12/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 

    See step  18

  2. REMOVE FUEL PUMP WITH FILTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.

    2. Using needle nose pliers, remove the E-ring from the fuel suction plate shaft.

    3. Disengage the claw.

    4. Disengage the 2 clamps.
    5. Disengage the guide to separate the fuel filter hose from the fuel sub-tank.
    6. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the fuel filter, fuel pump with filter assembly and spring from the fuel sub-tank.

      NOTE:

      Do not do anything which may separate the fuel tube from either the fuel suction plate sub-assembly or fuel filter, such as applying excessive force to the fuel tube.

    7. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws to remove the fuel pump with filter assembly from the fuel filter.

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the fuel filter.
      • Do not remove the suction filter from the fuel pump with filter assembly.
      • Do not use either the fuel pump or suction filter if the suction filter is removed from the fuel pump.
    8. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector to remove the fuel pump harness from the fuel pump with filter assembly.

    9. Remove the fuel pump filter seal from the fuel pump.

      *1 Fuel Pump Filter Seal
      *a 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the sealing surface.

      HINT: 

      If the fuel pump filter seal still remains in the fuel filter, remove it using a wire tip (1 mm (0.0394 in.) diameter) that is formed as shown in the illustration.

    10. Remove the fuel pump spacer from the fuel pump with filter assembly.
