Disassembly [12/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

- REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
See step 18
- REMOVE FUEL PUMP WITH FILTER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
- Using needle nose pliers, remove the E-ring from the fuel suction plate shaft.
- Disengage the claw.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*a Clamp *b Guide - Disengage the 2 clamps.
- Disengage the guide to separate the fuel filter hose from the fuel sub-tank.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the fuel filter, fuel pump with filter assembly and spring from the fuel sub-tank.NOTE:
Do not do anything which may separate the fuel tube from either the fuel suction plate sub-assembly or fuel filter, such as applying excessive force to the fuel tube.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 5 claws to remove the fuel pump with filter assembly from the fuel filter.NOTE:
- Do not damage the fuel filter.
- Do not remove the suction filter from the fuel pump with filter assembly.
- Do not use either the fuel pump or suction filter if the suction filter is removed from the fuel pump.
- Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector to remove the fuel pump harness from the fuel pump with filter assembly.
- Remove the fuel pump filter seal from the fuel pump.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Fuel Pump Filter Seal *a 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) NOTE:Be careful not to damage the sealing surface.
HINT:
If the fuel pump filter seal still remains in the fuel filter, remove it using a wire tip (1 mm (0.0394 in.) diameter) that is formed as shown in the illustration.
- Remove the fuel pump spacer from the fuel pump with filter assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector.
