DTC P0351: Ignition Coil "A" Primary / Secondary Circuit; DTC P0352: Ignition Coil "B" Primary / Secondary Circuit; DTC P0353: Ignition Coil "C" Primary / Secondary Circuit; DTC P0354: Ignition Coil "D" Primary / Secondary Circuit; DTC P0355: Ignition Coil "E" Primary / Secondary Circuit; DTC P0356: Ignition Coil "F" Primary / Secondary Circuit [12/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. READ OUTPUT DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    5. Read the DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      One of DTCs P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0356 is output. A
      Some of DTCs P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0356 are output. B

  2. PERFORM SIMULATION TEST 
    1. Clear DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2015 - 08/2016] ).
    2. Change the arrangement of the ignition coil assemblies.
      NOTE:

      Do not change the location of the connectors.

    3. Perform a simulation test.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Same DTCs are output (same as DTCs that were cleared) A
      Other DTCs are output B

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the ignition coil assembly (Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2015 - 08/2016] ).

    Result:

    REPLACE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - 08/2016] )

  3. INSPECT IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B23-1 (+B) - B23-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B24-1 (+B) - B24-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B25-1 (+B) - B25-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B26-1 (+B) - B26-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      B27-1 (+B) - B27-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the B23, B24, B25, B26, B27 and B28 ignition coil assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the B1 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B23-3 (IGT1) - B1-40 (IGT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      B24-3 (IGT2) - B1-39 (IGT2) Always Below 1 Ω
      B25-3 (IGT3) - B1-38 (IGT3) Always Below 1 Ω
      B26-3 (IGT4) - B1-37 (IGT4) Always Below 1 Ω
      B27-3 (IGT5) - B1-36 (IGT5) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY (GROUND CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B23-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B24-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B25-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B26-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B27-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
