Removal [12/2015 - 08/2016]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH.
  2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts to separate the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 4 exhaust pipe supports to remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the vehicle.

    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly.
  3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor (for bank 1 sensor 2) connector.

    2. Remove the oxygen sensor (for bank 1 sensor 2) wire grommet and pass the connector through the hole to the outside of the vehicle.
    3. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the oxygen sensor (for bank 1 sensor 2) wire from the vehicle.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts to separate the center exhaust pipe sub-assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: front catalyst).

    5. Disconnect the 2 exhaust pipe supports to remove the center exhaust pipe assembly from the vehicle.

    6. Remove the 2 gaskets from the center exhaust pipe assembly and front exhaust pipe assembly.
    7. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to remove the center exhaust pipe sub-assembly (TWC: rear catalyst) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    8. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to remove the center exhaust pipe sub-assembly (TWC: rear catalyst) from the center No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
    9. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly and center exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the oxygen sensor (for bank 2 sensor 2) connector.

    2. Disengage the 6 clamps to disconnect the oxygen sensor (for bank 2 sensor 2) wire from the 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

    3. Loosen the bolt and separate the exhaust pipe clamp from the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket.

    4. Remove the 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: front catalyst).

    5. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
  5. REMOVE OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) 
    1. Using SST, remove the oxygen sensor (for bank 1 sensor 2) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

      • SST: 09224-00010 
      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace oxygen sensor (for bank 1 sensor 2).

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2) 
    1. Using SST, remove the No. 2 oxygen sensor (for bank 2 sensor 2) from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      • SST: 09224-00010 
      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected to a strong impact, replace No. 2 oxygen sensor (for bank 2 sensor 2).
