Removal [08/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ]

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY WITH FAN SHROUD AND FAN MOTOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - ]

  4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH and oil pan sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the engine oil level dipstick guide O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the terminal cap.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal B.
    3. Disconnect the generator connector from the generator assembly.
    4. Disconnect the compressor and magnetic clutch connector.
    5. Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.
    6. Type A:

      1. Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly bracket.
    7. Type B:

      1. Remove the bolt, nut and generator assembly bracket.
    8. Remove the 2 bolts and the generator assembly.

    9. Remove the bolt and the wire harness clamp stay.
