Blind Spot Monitor Sensor Communication Stop Mode [08/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

      (to Blind Spot Monitor Sensor RH)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      q2-2 (CA1P) - q2-7 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK 

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH - POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the blind spot monitor sensor RH connector.

      (to Blind Spot Monitor Sensor RH)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      q2-10 (BRGD) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When connecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ] ).

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      q2-5 (BRB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
