DTC B1825-56: Short in Front Passenger Side - Side Squib Circuit; DTC B1826-56: Open in Front Passenger Side - Side Squib Circuit; DTC B1827-56: Short to GND in Front Passenger Side - Side Squib Circuit; DTC B1828-56: Short to B+ in Front Passenger Side - Side Squib Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Check that the connector is properly connected to the front seat side airbag RH.

      OK

      The connector is properly connected.

      HINT: 

      If the connector is not connected securely, reconnect the connector and proceed to the next inspection.

    4. Disconnect the connector from the front seat side airbag RH.
    5. Check that the terminal of the connector is not damaged.

      OK

      The terminal is not deformed or damaged.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG RH (SIDE SQUIB RH)

    1. Connect the black wire side of SST (resistance: 2.1 Ω) to connector C.
      WARNING:

      Never connect the tester to the front seat side airbag RH (side squib RH) for measurement, as this may lead to a serious injury due to airbag deployment.

      NOTE:
      • Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector when connecting SST.
      • Insert SST straight into the terminals of the connector.
      • SST: 09843-18061 
    2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    4. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
    6. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    7. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 or 56 is output A
      DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 or 56 is not output (w/ Manual Seat) B
      DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 or 56 is not output (w/ Power Seat) C

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 and 56 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    Result: 

    B 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    C 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    A

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    3. Disconnect SST from connector C.
    4. Check that the connector is properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly.

      OK

      The connector is properly connected.

    5. Disconnect the connector from the center airbag sensor assembly.
    6. Check that the terminal of the connector is not damaged.

      OK

      The terminal is not deformed or damaged.

    7. Check that the short spring for the No. 2 floor wire connector with the activation prevention mechanism is not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The short spring is not deformed or damaged.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (SIDE SQUIB RH CIRCUIT)

    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      W/ POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P5-1 (SFR+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      P5-2 (SFR-) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      W/O POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P16-1 (SFR+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
      P16-2 (SFR-) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/ POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P5-1 (SFR+) - P5-2 (SFR-) Always Below 1 Ω
      W/O POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P16-1 (SFR+) - P16-2 (SFR-) Always Below 1 Ω
    7. Release the activation prevention mechanism built into connector B (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).
    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/ POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P5-1 (SFR+) - P5-2 (SFR-) Always 1 MΩ or higher
      P5-1 (SFR+) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
      P5-2 (SFR-) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
      W/O POWER SEAT

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P16-1 (SFR+) - P16-2 (SFR-) Always 1 MΩ or higher
      P16-1 (SFR+) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR

    1. Restore the released activation prevention mechanism of connector B to the original condition.
    2. Connect the connectors to the front seat side airbag RH and the center airbag sensor.
    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    5. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).
    6. Turn the ignition switch off.
    7. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    8. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

      OK

      DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 or 56 is not output.

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTC B1825, B1826, B1827, B1828 and 56 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2017] )
