Installation [08/2015 - 08/2018]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      *1 No. 5 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 4 Water By-pass Hose
      *a White Mark

      HINT: 

      Make sure the hose color is shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the throttle body assembly, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the hose color is shown in the illustration.

    3. Align the protrusion of the gasket with the groove of the intake manifold.

    4. Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.
    5. Install the throttle body assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the throttle body assembly (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] ).

    6. Connect the throttle body connector.
    7. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the water inlet housing, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the hose color is shown in the illustration.

    8. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the No. 3 water by-pass pipe, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the hose color is shown in the illustration.

  2. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body assembly or removing and reinstalling any throttle body component.
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after reconnecting the battery cable and replacing the ECM.
    1. Disconnect the EFI fuse and ETCS fuse at the same time. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the fuses.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 650 to 750 RPM
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N of P.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ETC / Data List / All Data / Throttle Sensor Position. Sensor Output. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
  6. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
