Security Indicator Light Does not Blink [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Trouble Codes and Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      OK

      DTCs are not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (IMMOBILISER INDICATOR) 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.
    2. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
      SMART KEY

      Immobiliser Indicator Security indicator light OFF/ON -

      OK

      The security indicator light (combination meter assembly) operates normally.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

  3. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) OPERATION 
    1. When the immobiliser is set, check that the security indicator light (combination meter assembly) blinks.*1

      OK

      The security indicator light (combination meter assembly) blinks normally.

    2. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light (combination meter assembly) illuminates.*2

      OK

      The security indicator light (combination meter assembly) illuminates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      *1 is NG (*2 is OK) A
      *2 is NG (*1 is OK) B

    Result: 

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the H199 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the H139 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H199-19 (IND) - H139-36 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω
      H199-19 (IND) or H139-36 (LP) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Reconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Reconnect the H139 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.
