DTC B2282: Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction; DTC B2283: Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED METER) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Vehicle Speed Meter Vehicle speed/
      Min.: 0 km/h (0 mph), Max.: 255 km/h (158 mph)
      Almost same as actual vehicle speed -

      HINT: 

      Using a speedometer tester, check the actual vehicle speed and the vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream.

      OK

      Vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the actual vehicle speed measured using a speedometer tester.

    GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM (Speedometer Malfunction). Refer to  Speedometer Malfunction [08/2019 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL) 
    1. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Power Source Control / Data List.
    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      POWER SOURCE CONTROL

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H199 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the H139 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the A27 ECM connector.
    4. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System:

      Disconnect the H128 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    5. Disconnect the H202 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    6. w/ Navigation System:

      Disconnect the H206 navigation ECU connector.

    7. for 14 Speakers:

      Disconnect the H209 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H139-29 (+S) - H199-5 (SPD) Always Below 1 Ω
      H139-29 (+S) or H199-5 (SPD) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    9. Reconnect the H199 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    10. Reconnect the H139 combination meter assembly connector.
    11. Reconnect the A27 ECM connector.
    12. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System:

      Reconnect the H128 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    13. Reconnect the H202 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    14. w/ Navigation System:

      Reconnect the H206 navigation ECU connector.

    15. for 14 Speakers:

      Reconnect the H209 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

    1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H128 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    4. Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

      Result

    2. Disconnect the H206 navigation ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

    4. Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

      Result

    2. Disconnect the A24 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
