Emergency Call Switch Illumination Circuit [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the H207 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the U7 roof console box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      U7-10 (IG) - Body Ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H207-3 (SIG-) - U7-14 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      H207-3 (SIG-) or U7-14 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the roof console box assembly.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Roof Console Box Assembly (Manual [SOS] Switch))

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Apply battery voltage to the connector and check that the manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → U7-10 (IG)
      Battery negative (-) → U7-14 (GND3)
      Always Manual (SOS) switch illumination comes on

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [08/2019 - ]
