DTC B15C5-11: Emergency Call Switch Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C513: Emergency Call Switch Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ]

    NG

  2. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the roof console box assembly.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Roof Console Box Assembly)

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      13 (SIG1) - 14 (GND3) Emergency call switch not operated 410 to 414 Ω
      13 (SIG1) - 14 (GND3) Emergency call switch operated 81 to 83 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H207 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the U7 roof console box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H207-21 (SIG1) - U7-13 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H207-3 (SIG-) - U7-14 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      H207-21 (SIG1) or U7-13 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H207-3 (SIG-) or U7-14 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result:

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [08/2019 - ]
