DTC B15C1-11: GNSS Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C113: GNSS Antenna Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the Telephone and GPS antenna (for Roof Side).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (to Telephone and GPS antenna [for Roof Side])
      *b Component without harness connected
      (to Roof Headlining Assembly [Roof Antenna Cord])
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the roof headlining assembly (roof antenna cord).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-2 - B-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2a - B-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2 or B-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY [ROOF ANTENNA CORD]) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (to No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)
      *b Component without harness connected
      (to Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B-2 - C-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      B-2a - C-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      B-2 or C-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY [ROOF ANTENNA CORD]). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the antenna connector from the roof headlining assembly (roof antenna cord).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (to Roof Headlining Assembly [Roof Antenna Cord])
      *b Component without harness connected
      (to DCM [Telematics Transceiver])
    2. Disconnect the antenna connector from the DCM (telematics transceiver).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-2 - D-1 (GPS) Always Below 1 Ω
      C-2a - D-1a (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      C-2 or D-1 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA (FOR ROOF SIDE) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna (for Roof Side) with a known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA [FOR ROOF SIDE] IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG

  6. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [08/2019 - ]
