DTC B1570-11: Indicator (Red) Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B157013: Indicator (Red) Circuit Open [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2019 - ]

  2. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH) (RED INDICATOR) 
    1. Remove the roof console box assembly (manual [SOS] switch).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Roof Console Box Assembly (Manual [SOS] Switch))

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

    2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 12 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 14 (GND3) of the roof console box assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.
    4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

      OK

      Manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

    Result:

    REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM [TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER] - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (MANUAL [SOS] SWITCH)) 
    1. Disconnect the H207 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the U7 roof console box assembly (manual [SOS] switch) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H207-4 (IND1) - U7-12 (IND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      H207-4 (IND1) or U7-12 (IND1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H207-3 (SIG-) - U7-14 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      H207-3 (SIG-) or U7-14 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
