Installation [08/2015 - 08/2018]: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Toyota Sequoia, 2017 Toyota Sequoia, and 2016 Toyota Sequoia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the fuel injector assembly.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018]

    1. Apply gasoline or spindle oil to a new O-ring and install it to the injector.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that there is no damage or foreign matter in the groove of the injector when installing the O-ring.

    2. Connect the injector connector.

    3. Install the injector to the fuel delivery pipe as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that there are no scratches or foreign matter in or around the hole of the fuel delivery pipe.
      • When installing the injector, be careful not to damage the O-ring.
      • Attach the part of the injector labeled B between the parts of the fuel delivery pipe labeled A.
    4. Check that each injector is installed to the fuel delivery pipe facing the direction shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 spacers and 4 insulators to the cylinder head LH.

    2. Install the fuel delivery pipe (with injectors) to the cylinder head LH.
    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the part of the injector labeled B is between the parts of the fuel delivery pipe labeled A.

    4. Connect the No. 7 wire harness connector.
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  4. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 spacers and 4 insulators to the cylinder head RH.

    2. Install the fuel delivery pipe (with injectors) to the cylinder head RH.
    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the part of the injector labeled B is between the parts of the fuel delivery pipe labeled A.

  5. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  6. CONNECT NO. 3 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 6 wire harness connector.

    2. Connect the No. 3 ventilation hose.
  7. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the No. 1 fuel pipe to the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe (for quick type B) (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).

    2. Attach the clamp.
  8. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the fuel tube to the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe (for quick type A) (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).

    2. Connect the fuel tube to the fuel delivery pipe (for quick type A) (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).

  9. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the No. 2 fuel tube to the fuel pressure regulator (for quick type A) (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2018] ).

  10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  11. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      NOTE:

      Do not start the engine.

    3. Turn the Techstream main switch on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.
    5. Check that there are no fuel leaks after doing maintenance anywhere on the fuel system.
  12. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
