WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Toyota Sequoia, 2017 Toyota Sequoia, and 2016 Toyota Sequoia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSPECT RELAY (F/PMP VSV)
    GTY543871Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
    1. Remove the fuel pressure control valve relay (F/PMP VSV) from the engine room relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
3 - 5 When no battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 When battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

    Result:

    NG

    REPLACE RELAY (F/PMP VSV)

    Result:

    OK

    See step  2

  2. INSPECT RELAY (POWER SOURCE VOLTAGE)
    GTY611616Courtesy of © TOYOTA, LICENSE AGREEMENT TMS1002
    1. Remove the fuel pressure control valve relay (F/PMP VSV) from the engine room relay block.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F/PMP VSV relay (2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      F/PMP VSV relay (5) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    Result:

    NG

    See step  4

    Result:

    OK

    See step  3

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (F/PMP VSV RELAY - ECM)
    1. Remove the fuel pressure control valve relay (F/PMP VSV) from the engine room relay block.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F/PMP VSV relay (1) - D56-60 (FPCR) Always Below 1 Ω
F/PMP VSV relay (1) or D56-60 (FPCR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:

    OK

    REPLACE ECM

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2018] )

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (F/PMP VSV RELAY - EFI MAIN RELAY)
    1. Remove the integration relay (EFI MAIN) from the engine room relay block.
    2. Remove the fuel pressure control valve relay (F/PMP VSV) from the engine room relay block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F/PMP VSV relay (2) - 1B-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      F/PMP VSV relay (5) - 1B-4 Always Below 1 Ω
F/PMP VSV relay (2) or 1B-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or more
F/PMP VSV relay (5) or 1B-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or more

    Result:

    OK

GO TO ECM POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

(Refer to ECM Power Source Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result:
