DTC P2102: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit Low; DTC P2103: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE ACTUATOR)

    1. Disconnect the D4 throttle body assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (M+) - 1 (M-) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the throttle body (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2018] )

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THROTTLE ACTUATOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the D4 throttle body assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the D56 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D4-2 (M+) - D56-19 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      D4-1 (M-) - D56-18 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω
      D4-2 (M+) or D56-19 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D4-1 (M-) or D56-18 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check for foreign objects between the throttle valve and the housing.

      OK

      No foreign objects between throttle valve and housing.

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after cleaning the throttle body (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT AND CLEAN THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT THROTTLE VALVE 
    1. Check if the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

      OK

      Throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

      HINT: 

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the throttle body (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2018] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2018] )
