DTC P0505: Idle Control System Malfunction [08/2015 - 10/2016]: Procedure
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0505)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read DTCs.RESULT
Result Proceed to P0505 is output A P0505 and other DTCs are output B HINT:
If any DTCs other than P0505 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

- CHECK PCV HOSE CONNECTIONS
- Check the PCV hose connections (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

PCV hose is connected correctly and is not damaged.

OK

- Check the PCV hose connections (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
).
- CHECK AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM
- Check the air induction system for vacuum leakage (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
).
OK
No leakage from air induction system.
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after repairing or replacing the air induction system (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

REPAIR OR REPLACE AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM

- Check the air induction system for vacuum leakage (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
).
- CHECK THROTTLE VALVE
- Check the throttle valve condition.

Throttle valve is not contaminated with foreign objects and moves smoothly.

Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the throttle body assembly (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).
