Removal [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    (Refer to REPLACEMENT [08/2015 - ] )

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Raise the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly to detach the 2 pins. Then remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the No. 1 V-bank cover bracket, and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

      *1 V-bank Cover Grommet
      *2 Pin
      *3 No. 1 V-bank Cover Bracket
      *4 V-bank Cover Hook
  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.

    2. Slide the clamp and disconnect the ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose assembly.
    3. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
    4. Remove the air cleaner hose assembly.
  4. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the ventilation hose assembly from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 
    1. Remove the No. 3 engine cover.

  7. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector from the throttle body assembly.

    2. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the inlet water housing and front water by-pass joint.
    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the ventilation hose from the intake manifold.

    4. Disconnect the 2 vacuum switching valve connectors.

    5. Slide the clamp and disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.
    6. Remove the 2 bolts.

    7. Slide the clamp and disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the No. 1 tube.
    8. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps from the 3 wire harness clamp brackets.

    9. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.

    10. Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

  8. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and ventilation hose assembly from the intake manifold.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 V-bank cover bracket.

  10. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BOLT 
    1. Remove the 2 V-bank cover bolts from the intake manifold.

  11. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, throttle body assembly and gasket.

  12. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses from the vacuum switching valve assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt and vacuum switching valve assembly.
  13. REMOVE PURGE VSV 
    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the purge line hose from the intake manifold.

    2. Remove the bolt and purge VSV.
  14. REMOVE UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE 
    1. Slide the clamp and remove the union to connector tube hose from the intake manifold.

  15. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.
